GHE Teachers are Rocking The New Year!

I feel so fortunate to be able to see teachers building relationships with students and families. Thank you for all of your hard work and preparations. It means so much to students to see their names on things, and to be able to tell you and their classmates about themselves. It is fun to find out who has more than one sibling or who likes to go fishing. (Mrs. Perry's class has learned a lot about their principal). Remember that the tone you set now will set students up for success in your classroom.

We have a whole group of new Falcons joining us full time next week as our Kindergarteners begin their journey. Please tell your students that if they see a tiny confused person perhaps they can help them. This is a great time to talk about empathy.  Third grade's first EL module is all about overcoming learning challenges. Being new to a school, at any age, is a challenge.  If students see someone who is sitting alone or has no one to play with, please teach them to be a friend.

We can practice the same when it comes to new colleagues. We have far few newer staff this year, but we do have some. This staff is always so welcoming and willing to help everyone and know that is why a lot of folks want to work at GHE!
